igus CF9 and CF10 series multi-conductor control cables for continuous flexing applications are available in sizes from 20AWG to 14AWG, with three to seven unshielded (CF9 series) or four and five shielded (CF10 series) conductors. A green-yellow insulated ground conductor is included in the conductor count of each cable.
Individual conductors are bare copper and stranded for flexing applications. Conductor insulation is a mechanically high-quality black thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). Individual conductors are marked with white numbers for easy identification. The cable’s outer jacket is a low-adhesion pressure extruded slate gray TPE mixture that provides resistance to sunlight, oil penetration, and is flame-retardant.
Chainflex® cables have a unique tear strip underneath the outer jacket (unshielded) or underneath the inner jacket (shielded). The jacket can be opened like a zipper to the desired length by pulling on the special tear strip and the outer jacket/inner jacket removed from conductors. The tear strip saves time and effort for electricians and assemblers and reduces the requirement for additional stripping tools.
High flex continuous flexing control cables from AutomationDirect start at $1.46 / ft. and are available cut-to-length in one-foot increments with a 20-foot minimum length.
In business since 1994, AutomationDirect is a distributor offering thousands of industrial automation products for electrical control systems, including PLCs, operator interfaces, AC drives, motors, stepper systems, sensors, motor controls, enclosures and more. Their prices are typically well below the list price of more traditional automation companies because of their business model and focus on efficiency, and the majority of their products are stocked for same-day shipping.
