Newsletter: Volume 18 – Issue 4

In this April issue, we’ve focused on Pneumatics. Check out the “DIY Pneumatic Saw Clamp” article which includes a how to video. There’s also an article explaining why you should use pneumatics and an article to help you decode those pneumatic circuit symbols. If you haven’t had a chance to download the new pneumatics ebook, we’ve included a link in the new products section. Be sure to take the pneumatics quiz – we’ve giving away Pneumatics Tubing Cutters and Digital Pressure Transducers. Hope you enjoy the newsletter and the warm weather!

Decode Those Pneumatic Circuit Symbols

When it comes to designing a pneumatic system, you want the right tool for the job. One of the building blocks of a pneumatic system is a directional air control valve. Understanding the symbols representing the valves equips you with the information you need to make the right choice. Pneumatic circuit Symbols explained

DIY Pneumatic Saw Clamp

There’s an old saying, “Necessity is the mother of invention.” This is definitely the case for David Burrell, an AutomationDirect customer who needed an extra hand while cutting extra-long pieces of lumber. By incorporating pneumatic products, David invented a pneumatic clamp that eliminated the need for a second set of hands. Pneumatic application story

Check Out Our New Interactive Panel Page

For over 20 years we’ve been helping panel builders cut project costs and deliver on time.  We know how to do this because many of us came from panel shops across the southeast United States. We’ve developed an interactive panel page to show customers like you that our products are as easy to find as they are to use. Check out the new interactive panel

Team Otto Wins Robotics Competition

For several years, AutomationDirect has supported STEM and robotics programs in area schools. Recently, the robotics team from Forsyth Central High School won not only the district qualifier at the Georgia FIRST Robotics competition, but also won at the state competition and now advances to the world competition in St. Louis. Team Otto Wins!

 Why Pneumatics?

Pneumatic systems perform a myriad of tasks in automated equipment such as clamping, gripping, positioning, lifting, pressing, shifting, sorting and stacking. Pneumatics can also provide a simple, reliable, cost-effective solution. So, in designing your next motion application, instead of asking “Why should I use pneumatics?” ask yourself, “Why not?” Read more about Pneumatics

Enter to Win in Our Pneumatics Quiz

How well do you know your pneumatics? Do you think you can answer 10 questions correctly? In this contest, we’re giving away Pneumatic Tubing Cutters and Digital Pressure Transducers. The deadline to enter is May 15th! (Don’t worry, winners are chosen at random, not based on quiz performance.) Take the quiz to win!
