It’s 5AM and you slowly realize the all too familiar sound of your alarm clock yelling at you to get out of bed. It’s Monday morning, time to throw on something you’ll realize later you forgot to iron, swallow some coffee and jump into the car for your long commute to the office. There are many things not to like about a typical workweek, but companies like AutomationDirect prove that your place of employment doesn’t have to be one of them.
Top Work Place
AutomationDirect has been once again been awarded a Top Workplaces honor by The Atlanta Journal Constitution. The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. Several aspects of workplace culture were measured, including Alignment, Execution, and Connection, just to name a few.
“The Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest. And oftentimes, people assume it’s all about fancy perks and benefits.” says Doug Claffey, CEO of WorkplaceDynamics. “But to be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day—the employees. Time and time again, our research has proven that what’s most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it’s going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together.” Claffey adds, “Without this sense of connection, an organization doesn’t have a shot at being named a Top Workplace.”
According to the employee survey, AutomationDirect excels in the areas of Alignment and Connection. Alignment meaning that AutomationDirect operates by strong values and ethics with a majority of employees noting that there is not a lot of negativity existing. Employees also note that they feel connected to the company by being well-informed of important company decisions. Many of the comments listed in the survey reflect these sentiments:
“It seems that negativity doesn’t have a chance of surviving here. AutomationDirect seems to understand the concept of ‘Happy employees, happy business.’ When you show great appreciation and consideration for one another, this helps keep negativity away before it has a chance of poisoning the water.”
“They truly care about you as a person and they care about your family.”
“AutomationDirect is an example of what their values are. They are carried out and you are treated with respect.”
The 2017 Top Workplaces award (and the previous 2012 and 2014 honors) reflects the ongoing excellence of AutomationDirect’s company culture. One that allows employees to take ownership of their jobs and encourages them to be innovative and creative in their careers. A culture that promotes a healthy work-life balance and rewards employees generously for a job well done.
