August 12, 2026 – AutomationDirect has added Wenglor weFlux2 insertion-style flow sensors which measure flow velocity and temperature using a single probe for closed-pipe systems. By eliminating the need for a separate temperature sensor, they reduce installation and wiring complexity, as well as overall system cost. Operating on the calorimetric measuring principle, they detect changes in heat dissipation within the flowing medium to deliver accurate, reliable readings regardless of mounting orientation or flow direction.
They measure flow velocities from 10 to 400 cm/s (0.33 to 13.12 ft/s) and offer two configurable outputs for switch, analog, or IO-Link operation, depending on the model. Models are available with 75, 100, or 200 mm probe lengths and feature laser-welded 316L stainless steel housings with IP68/IP69K protection to withstand harsh washdown environments. The IO-Link versions also include built-in parameter storage to simplify commissioning, device replacement, and integration into automation systems.
